as i was setting up the tripod and camera to photograph this scene, i began to think of the time needed to make this scene. over the years, the water coming down in this stream has caused the land to erode in spots, rocks have clogged up the water causing it to flow in other directions - eroding other spots, the snow and freezing temperatures came causing the ice to slowly begin to form while warmer days caused parts of the ice to melt and the underside of the water to warm up throughout the day and melt the underside of the ice. all of these elements combined to produce this scene that shows the many layers of time.
