i love this waterfall. it’s not far off of a major trail in rocky mountain national park, but it’s not easy to get to - especially when you’re lugging a twenty pound pack or so with a tripod hanging off of it. but when you do…it’s quite the site in the dark woods. this image was taken in early summer, which is still pretty cool in high altitude mountains. not only was it cool, but it was close to the max level of snow runoff. it was impossible to be anywhere close to the waterfall without getting wet with mist. i had to really get this image quick and even so, by the time i’d re-packed my bag with all my gear, my clothes were pretty wet.

but it was worth it.
