Precarious
Precarious
sometimes when i’m in nature, i sit and take it all in.
after my friend and i had hiked up this hillside into a thick strand of aspen, looking for the best color, we sat. i closed my eyes and listened to the wind shake the golden aspen leaves, and when i opened them i looked down the hill and found this single leaf, precariously hanging with the help of some fellow forest mates.
i’m a sucker for backlighting (lighting a subject from behind, or placing the sun behind a subject) - especially aspen leaves this time of year. but the backlighting here, the wonderful “catch” of the leaf, the solitude of it all, drew me into this image. this intimate image was my favorite aspen image of last autumn.
