i want to ride my icycle!

apologies to Queen and all their fans for the cheesy take on their song about bicycles. ironically, i despised that song when i was young. unfortunately, my feelings haven’t changed much regarding the song.

but i do like this image.

i was driving home at the end of a spring day when i’d gone for a hike. the weather got quite warm during the day for that time of year and that altitude, causing a lot of the fresh snow from the prior night to melt. as night was beginning to take charge and the blue hour dawned, that snowmelt turned into icicles on this rock structure. so i did the “photographer thing,” stopped the car, got out, froze while setting up and snapped this image.

this image is a good bit more abstract than many of my images on the website, although it may also be a sign of things to come. so keep your eyes peeled if you like this style.
