The Road to Somewhere?
The Road to Somewhere?
a long, lonely road through death valley national park.
i still recall my first sunrise in the desert a mile or more from a road. it’s silent. at the time, it was incredibly eerily silent. i’d often wondered why bands and artists loved to spend time in the desert. but that eerie silence was a sign of something i’d never realized i craved - solitude.
that silence, and that solitude, in conjunction with a road that seemingly goes on forever, but to where? this image can be interpreted in numerous ways, and i have done so myself - depending on the day. it is, one of the reasons i love this photograph so much.
