Scarred
Scarred
i took this photo a couple years ago. it's taken me a while to process it such that it says what i want it to say to me.
on two occasions in the month prior to taking this picture, my girlfriend had asked me if i noticed a woman's arm who was checking us out in various financial transactions in restaurants or stores. i hadn’t noticed the women's arms as i admittedly fail to notice such details.
"she’s a cutter."
i've dated women in the past who had admitted to being cutters previously in their lives. they'd told me a bit about why and when they did it. i've never been able to relate to it myself, but i've always felt horrible that people feel like doing that.
i don't always take pictures of pretty landscapes, and sometimes my pictures are of a landscape but not about that landscape, as is the case here.
in this age of highly charged polarization within society, try to allow your fellow human some slack. you don't know what they may be dealing with.
