Foggy Sunrise
Foggy Sunrise
i often find myself in situations where i see something worthy of a photograph but don’t stop because parking’s not convenient, i need to get somewhere else to take pictures, i’m too lazy to take out the tripod, camera, search for a composition or i convince myself the image wouldn’t have been that great anyway.
i saw a scene similar to this a couple years prior. i couldn’t find a spot to park and needed to get somewhere for sunrise. (i didn’t get there by sunrise) so i’ve always wanted the opportunity to make an image when the situation presented itself again.
fog was in the forecast for the morning and i decided on a place to explore that entailed passing the once passed-up image around the time of sunrise. i found my spot - a small overlook above the road, pulled off, grabbed my pack with tripod attached and walked over to find my composition. as i crossed the road i noticed a beautiful fox also crossing to the overlook. it was apparent it wanted to watch the sunrise above the fog as well. after a moment or two of giving me the look my ex-wife used to always give me and me calling it buddy, it decided to find a different overlook where a goofy, coffee breathed human wouldn’t disrupt its enjoyment of the morning.
my bad.
