The Struggle for Humility
The Struggle for Humility
as a recovering alcoholic, one of the biggest indications of where i currently reside in sobriety is the state of my humility. when i’m humble - when i don’t think the world revolves around me, it’s easier for me to handle some of the challenges life presents. when i think i’m more important than i actually am, acceptance of those challenges becomes more difficult, and in turn i find myself closer to a drink. so humility is everything to me.
this scene is a constant reminder of that very simple fact. it is to me, a natural representation of how things can easily lose humility depending on our reference point. a changing of that reference point will show us where we actually exist in the world.
